Renovations Diary
Since TOP moved into the premises in 2019, we have been working hard to restore the original buildings and adapt them to our modern-day needs. Take a look at the changes we have made so far and keep an eye out for more improvements to come with an extension, a large central kitchen, ablution facilities and a re-surfaced car park all in the pipe-line.
The Exterior
The Tree-Top Hall has always been eye-catching and beautiful, and we hope to restore it fully, in time. Our priorities have been working on the garden, creating raised beds and a tree-lined walkway, and transforming the passageway between the two halls into a brand-new kitchen. We will be resurfacing the car park, once the building renovations are complete.
Musalla (prayer room) and Community Hall
We were excited by the creation of a bespoke prayer space, our Musalla. Our teachers Doha Alyan and Arwa Habib designed the space, and created the modern and peaceful room. The Community Hall started out very red, so we gave all the walls and ceilings a lick of paint, and sanded and varnished the floor, to bring it up to a better standard.
TOP Academy
At the back of the Community Hall, were two very large rooms, with lovely large windows, that we all fell in love with, when we first purchased the building. We inserted a partition wall in each room to create four brand new classrooms for the children’s classes at TOP, providing us with the much-needed space for our expanding Academy.
