Description
The Olton Project is offering students a comprehensive programme for correct Qur’anic recitation (Tajweed), advancing through 3 levels of competence with the aim of reciting the entire Qur’an (khatm) at the hands of a qualified teacher that has an unbroken chain of narration back to the Beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
Level 2
To enter this level, the student is expected to have successfully completed level 1, or to have covered a good level of tajweed theory with fluency in recitation.
Students are expected to be committed to their learning. This level involves the study of the Al Jazariyyah poem (by Imam Shams Ed Deen Al Jazari) and focusing on fine tuning recitation of the Qur’an. Al Jazariyyah is an Arabic poem written in verse to aid the student with memorisation of the tajweed rules.

Teacher: Ustadh Waqqas Ahmed has been teaching the Holy Quran to children and adults at TOP Academy for 9 years and is the Imam at TOP. He memorised the Quran whilst undertaking post graduate studies in Opthalmology and holds an Ijazah in Hafs Qiraat. He has completed a diploma in Islamic studies and is currently undertaking an Alimiyyah program, based on the Maliki syllabus taught in Mauritania. He is also a student of the 10 Qiraat of the Holy Quran and is able to recite in Warsh and Qaloon modes of recitation.
